Kisses

I'm feeling slushy on account of it being valentines, and working today back in the card shop and selling nothing but cheesy gifts and cards to worried last minute lovers. There is only half an hour left of the day now, and my thoughts turned to movie kisses.

For the first time ever, youtube has failed to produce my favourite movie kiss so I will tell you about it instead. Its from Cabaret. The moment Brian and Sally kiss, properly kiss that is, for the first time. She comes home one night, upset because her father who she hasn't seen for a long time stood her up. Brian was there and comforted her as she cried, and it starts with an embrace, a kiss on the cheek, a kiss on the forehead, a kiss on the cheek again, and then the kiss on the mouth. Then they stop, pull back, look at each other in surprise, then kiss properly.

I think its my favourite movie kiss because they were both genuinely surprised by it, they didn't see it coming, it wasn't planned. There's just a very beautiful air to the scene.

Another one, which isn't my favourite but still deserves a mention, is one from Dans Paris. I've only seen it once, overall its not that interesting a movie kiss. But the guy is standing looking at a window display, its night time, and the girl, this random stranger who he doesn't know, comes and stands beside him to also look at the window display (or maybe its the other way around, I don't remember) I can't remember what happens exactly, I think he asks if he can kiss her, or whatever, they end up kissing, and afterwards she says "that was delightful" then he sort of jests her in a nice way, about using the word delightful.

I'm just mentioning this movie kiss anyway, because the guy is Louis garrel. But mainly because I would fucking love it, if a nice guy in the street, out of the blue, came and asked me if he could kiss me.

Anyway, at the lack of these scenes on youtube, here's a kissing video. I heard (and loved) the song before I ever seen the video, but I love the video equally and am kind of bummed that I was never in it. It's lovely.

Internet explorer is being a bitch and stops responding every time I try to embed, so you'll have to make do with the link
